Welcome to "The Park"

After much deliberation and thought to what it means to be "creative", I have come to the conclusion that there is more to it than being artistically inclined or simply having a cool computer. The Creative Class is a fast growing section of society once thought to be the slacker kids of the vilified Gen-X set. Street-smart, quick-witted heads that either railed against conformity or simply didn't fit anywhere else. We didn't have a plan, and that was our plan. Instictive actions and thought processes and the ability to not only roll with the punches, but counter-punch in turn makes the Creative Class a viable force in today's world. We are headed for many of the same results and conclusions along the road but we relish the bumps and winding turns when compared to the wide, paved road of the masses.

I'll bet you know a "Creative". That gal at work who seems to get things done while not really sweating bullets. The kid in your 8 a.m. lecture with an amazing sense of style yet a 4.0 in Biology and couldn't point you in the direction of the Art college. That guy on the job who seems to come alive and actually thrive under the pressure rather than the daily march of the ants. The "suit" who is an avid climber and action sport freak in his downtime. The list goes on, but there in lies the point. Creatives are the future. the hybrid minds that are going to future-cast the timeline of social evolution during their own time. Artists with a talent for critical thought, poets with a pension for numbers, construction workers with supreme fashion sense. This is not a factual dissertation, just the opinion of a few people who have seen this new pathway start to take form.

So with that, the purpose of The Yale Park Collective is to offer a window into all things Creative in the humble opinions of our crew. From art to fashion, writing, design and creative though this is a simply sharing of the findings as tinted by our own places in the sub-culture of the Creatives Class. Stay tuned.

Welcome to Yale Park.

Thanks much J.F. It's like this globule mass off "I don't know what it is" right now, but I hope it will stay that way for just a bit. I want it to grow organically into a "watch" of style, fashion, art, design and more all while staying just on the fringe.

We'll see where it goes.
thx
